ELA
This week, students will view Chamber Theater's Virtual Poe Production of The Midnight Collection. Students read/will read Poe's "The Bells", "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "Annabelle Lee", which are featured in this production. Students will read/analyze and create a radio-drama recording of one of a selection of suspense stories (A Sound of Thunder, Lamb to the Slaughter, The Monkey's Paw, The Open Window, The Landlady and/or The Lottery). Students will explore Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. We will continue our Library, Drama and ELA collaboration on "As You Like It". Students will focus on Wordly Wise Lesson 6 this week.
Writing
Students are submitting their draft high school application letters on 11/30/20 and will receive feedback to refine them. We will spend the month December working on writing an historical argument for History Fair. Students will work on creating annotated bibliographies and their papers which will be due before Winter Break.
Civics
Students will begin Unit 2 which is focused on exploring government and what role it plays in their lives.
