Room 316 had a super spooky and fun Virtual Hogwarts Escape Room and Virtual Scavenger Hunt! Thank you to our Room Parent, Leah Pouw, for organizing with these great activities. We also enjoyed a Voting Panel Discussion with over 400 CPS students as well as community partners through the Department of Civics.
All make-up work or resubmissions are due by Wednesday, 11/4/20. No work will be accepted after Wednesday. Please check Google Classroom and Aspen to ensure that there are no surprises.
ELA - This week we are finishing up our novels looking at climax and resolutions as well as theme in preparation for our final exams on Thursday.
Writing - Students are completing their news articles due Wednesday. They will continue to work on the self-paced Checkology Modules to complete our study of journalism and its role as a watchdog.
Civics - We are finishing up our look at Voting Rights with some surprising results from our research. There have been significant changes (a Supreme Court Decision) as well as a range of implementation on voting rights which have led to some voter suppression. Next week, we will continue to explore our rights under the constitution with a focus on the freedoms its guarantees and what this means for citizens.
In November, we are looking forward to a virtual visit with SunTimes Editor, Paul Saltzman as well as a virtual movie screening as part of the International Children's Film Festival.
