Students are looking at symbols and motifs, as well as thematic elements (hope, and how they add dimension and support the central message of Elie's heartbreaking story. All students should be free reading daily and taking AR quizzes toward their 2nd semester goal.
Writing - Students are continuing to draft their Young Author's manuscripts due on March 24, 2023. They are working in genre groups and should have at least a page written at this point. Students are continuing to complete their personalized Grammar Quill activities and assignments this month.

This week, we looked at rivers/streams (our beliefs and values) and how they influence what we bring to exploring difficult topics. Students learned about their Miranda Rights and the Rights of the Accused, exploring the 5th, 6th and 8th Amendments.
