ELA - Students are busy preparing their Suspense story radio dramas for recording and presentation next week. Stories include "The Landlady" by Roald Dahl, "The Open Window" by H. H. Munro (Saki), "Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury, "Lamb to Slaughter" by Roald Dahl, and "The Money's Paw" by W. W. Jacobs. We will be reading and analyzing our last suspense story in our unit, Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".
Writing - Students will be completing Unit 1 of Gum Lessons 8-12 this week. They will focus on developing their argument thesis statement and building their body paragraphs. Annotated bibliographies have been in process and are due on Friday, 12/11/20. The History Fair Paper will be due the Friday before Winter Break on 12/18/20.
Civics - Last we explored the definition of government and how it impacts 8th graders. This week, we will continue Unit 2 looking at How Policy is created and answer the question: What is Federalism?
