Academics
ELA - Students are continuing their reading and annotating using Note & Notice techniques as they explore the science fiction protagonist (anti-hero) and the elements of science fiction. Students are leading the discussing each day and are sharing their annotations and a visual summary on their assigned days. See calendar posted under Assignments.
Writing - Students are developing thesis statements for their History Fair Projects. Ms. Wiltse is assisting in Library with how to create a bibliography as they find research sources. We will be working on body paragraphs and finalizing thesis statements next week.
Civics - Students enjoyed a virtual field trip with Max from the First Amendment Museum in Augusta, Maine. He made the First Amendment come to life and introduced us to how censorship and cancel culture connect to our basic rights. Students will be completing their DBQ (document based question) related to What it Means to Be an Engaged Civic Actor using three sources to support their argument next week.
