Students will be completing a graduation survey to help with ordering their graduation materials. The survey is due on Friday, January 15, 2021.
ELA
This week, we will finish our study of "As You Like It" by comparing/contrasting the film with the text looking at setting, plot elements, characters and resolution. Students will turn in their choice projects on Friday and enjoy a gallery walk of their final projects. We will begin a look at some of the key elements of comics in Scott McCloud's nonfiction graphic work, Understanding Comics. Students will meet in small groups to discuss the text using a variety of different analysis tools. Students should be completing free reading and AR quizzes as we are heading into the last three weeks of the quarter.
Writing
Students will begin work on Gum Grammar Unit 2, exploring sentence types and clauses in writing with Lessons 13-17. Students will explore the range of History Fair Project types looking at exemplars, project guidelines and rubrics. They will select a project which we will be developing in writing class with a due date of February 8, 2021.
Civics
Students will begin Unit 3 in our Civics curriculum which explores identity, community and the common good.
