We pledge to stand up against hate, spread inclusion by being upstanders so everyone feels welcome and appreciated, stand up to those who don't include others, and ensure we do not discriminate against anyone.
Change in Classes - As of March 8th, students will begin PE with Mr. Hamlin and Science with Mr. Loza for Room 316. Room 311 will have Civics for 5 weeks.
This coming week we will begin our hybrid/remote schedule. That means Wednesday afternoons will be asynchronous time for students to work on assignments or long term projects.

This week students will be exploring Poetry in ELA as well as writing. Students will read and analyze the following poems: "The Hand" by Mary Ruefle, "The Song of the Wandering Aengus" by W. B. Yeats, "The Parakeets" by Alberto Blanco, "The Fish" by Elizabeth Bishop, and "The Mending Wall" by Robert Frost.
Writing
Every Friday, we are enjoying Poetry Cafe where students are sharing poems or pieces of their poems with classmates. We will explore non-sense poems in Room 311 and sonnets in Room 316.
Civics
Room 311 students will be completing a mini-inquiry unit on non-for-profits within our city and how they use their power to promote the common good.
