- The Graduation Fee of $130.00 may be paid at your convenience at the Coonley E-pay site.
- Ms. Wheatman, our counselor, will continue individual meetings with students to discuss the High School Application process during advisory.
Homeroom/Advisory - This week, we continued Unit 3: We Are Connected this month with lessons focused on: Building Your Dream Team. We will continue this week with Lead with Value. We are continuing to read Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson as our Equity Read Aloud on Wednesdays. Thursdays - students had time for Free Reading. On Friday, we will check Google Classroom Submissions to ensure all assignments were submitted, checked Aspen Gradebook for any missing word/assignments or opportunities for retakes, cleaned out binders, desks and lockers as needed.
ELA - This coming week, we will complete body paragraphs for our Literary Essay on Comic Techniques that illustrate a universal truth. We'll look at techniques for creating engaging introductions and conclusions. We are performing 12th Night up to and including Act 1, Scene 5 in a Readers' Theater format. We will continue reading Act 2 exploring new vocabulary, annotating for literary devices, and exploring Shakespearean characters types including round/flat, dynamic/static, foil, stock and confidante.
Civics/Social Science - We have been thinking about themes, digging deeper into research and narrowing down potential History Fair Topics. We'll view a video from Sulzer Children's Librarian Jordan to assist students in finding information using the CPL many databases and in preparation for our field trip on 10/3/22. We'll dig deeper into Launch 1-3 looking at the Bill of Rights and Voting Rights as well as the First Amendment in Launch 1-4.
